While the Dawgs were on a bye week, the Tennessee Volunteers fell to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Here is how the game affects Georgia moving forward.

Because of the bye week, Georgia fans did not have the opportunity to watch their Bulldogs play this Saturday. However, plenty of massive games were still taking place around the SEC, including Tennessee’s highly anticipated matchup against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The Vols fell short on the road as they were defeated by the Alabama Crimson Tide by a score of 34-20. The loss dropped Tennesse to a 5-2 overall record and a 2-2 record in conference. With the loss, the Volunteers’ chances of clinching the SEC East and making the College Football Playoff have become extremely slim. Which means that Georgia’s chances of winning the division are that much higher. The Bulldogs are currently 7-0 and are looking to win the Eastern division for the sixth time in seven years.

Georgia will travel to Knoxville, Tennessee on Nov. 18 to do battle with the Volunteers. It will be their last SEC matchup of the 2023 regular season.

Georgia Bulldogs’ Remaining 2023 Schedule

  • Oct. 28 vs Florida
  • Nov. 4 vs Missouri
  • Nov. 11 vs Ole Miss
  • Nov. 18 @ Tennessee
  • Nov. 25 @ Georgia Tech
