Bosnia and Herzegovina’s annual inflation is expected to average at around 5.8% in 2024, the country’s central bank said.
Projections for 2024 and 2025 suggest a positive outlook on inflation trends, which will contribute to the general improvement of the economy, Bosnia’s central bank said in press release on Thursday, citing data collected in a December survey.
However, inflation trends remain influenced by both internal and external factors, leading to variations in the projections not only within the country itself but also on a global level, the central bank noted.
The survey respondents projected an average inflation of 5.5% in 2025.
Based on September projections, the country’s average annual inflation is expected to be 7.9% in 2023.
Bosnia’s central bank conducts the survey with representatives of the financial, banking and insurance sector on a quarterly basis.
Consumer prices in Bosnia rose 1.7% on the year in November, after an annual increase of 2.1% in October, according to the latest data by the country’s statistical office.
